Welcome to the website of the International Mineral Processing Council

Welcome to the website of the International Mineral Processing Council. The Council is an elected body and is responsible for matters such as deciding on the venue and date of International Mineral Processing Congresses, ensuring that Congresses maintain the high standards generally associated with such events, establishing Commissions in areas of interest to the global minerals processing community, making awards to distinguished mineral processors, etc.

In September 2012, the XXVI IMPC was held in New Dehli. The Council wishes to extend its sincerest thanks and appreciation to the President of the Organizing Committee, Dr Pradip, and his highly dedicated team for ensuring yet another outstanding Congress following those in recent years in Beijing and Brisbane. A full report on the New Delhi Congress can be found elsewhere on this site. At this Congress Dr PC Kapur was elected as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award

We now turn our eyes to Chile and I have no doubt that the XXVII IMPC which will be held in Santiago, Chile, in October 2014 will be yet another highly successful event bringing together the mineral processors from around the world to share their research and expertise with their colleagues. The XXVIII IMPC will be held  in 2016 in Quebec City, Canada,  and Moscow, having submitted a preliminary bid in competition with other bids, has been shortlisted to submit a full proposal to host the XXIX IMPC in 2018 for the consideration of the Council at the time of the Santiago event.

The Council now extends a cordial invitation for preliminary proposals to host the XXX IMPC for consideration at the Council’s meeting at the time of the XVII IMPC in 2014. Details on how these proposals are made can be found elsewhere on this website.

Kind regards

Cyril O’Connor
Chairman: IMPC
