Christian Lucionwas awarded the degree of “Ingénieur civil métallurgiste” in 1971 from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium.Research-assistant, lecturer and finally, Director of the “Laboratoire de traitement des minerais” (LTM) of the UCL at Louvain-la-Neuve.

In 1995, moving the LTM to Tournai to create a new research centre of the Walloon Region “Centre Terre et Pierre” (CTP – EMRA), as Operating General Manger.

Many industrial and international cooperation missions in various countries of Europe and in the world (Algeria, Canada, Ecuador, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Peru, RD Congo, South Africa, Thailand, USA,…)

He taught “Mineral processing” in Belgium at the Université catholique de Louvain and at the Université de Liège, in Morocco at École Nationale de l’Industrie Minérale (ENIM) and in France at the Université de Lille and the Université de Valenciennes. He also received the title of Honorary Professor at the Escuela Politecnica Nacional de Quito in Ecuador.

He is also author or co-author of more than hundred publications and had participated to numerous national and international meetings or congress.

At the moment he is retired. Christian Lucion is the Belgian member of the international Advisory Committee of the IMPC and chairman of the workshop “Recycling and Valorization of “Société de l’Industrie Minérale” (Sim) in France ; he is also member of various society (AusIMM, CIM, SAIMM, SME, TMS, …).
