Lev FILIPPOV is a Professor at Université de Lorraine (Nancy, France) since 2006. He is also a Professor at National University of Science and Technology ”MISiS” (Moscow, Russia).
He graduated from Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys (MISIS) in Metallurgy with a Ph.D in Mineral Processing in 1985. The subject of thesis concerned the use of mixture of reagents of different molecular structure to enhance the flotation of fine particle of cassiterite and sheelite.
He defended in 1996 the second Doctor thesis in Geosciences at the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine (INPL) on the physical chemistry aspects and modelling of fine particle flotation.
His current research interests include synergistic effects in mixed collectors systems for non-sulphide ores flotation and modelling, scale-up and on site-tests of pneumatic flotation machines (column and reactor-separator
He is Head of “Minerals engineering” Team of Georesources research Laboratory and Director of “Mineral row materials” chair at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Géologie (ENSG Nancy) of University of Lorraine (UL). He is an active supervisor of postgraduate students.
He is involved as coordinator and task leader in several International and European network projects as well as member of several International Congress Organizing Committees and Scientific Boards.
He is author of more than 120 papers and 15 national and international patents.
