The immediate past IMPC was held in New Delhi in 2012.
It recorded the highest ever attendance of delegates and was an outstanding success.

The XXVI International Mineral Processing Congress (IMPC 2012) was held in Hotel Ashok in New Delhi, India during September 23-28, 2012. More than 1100 delegates from 42 countries around the world participated in this prestigious conference, held for the first time in India. IMPC 2012 was jointly organized by the Indian Institute of Mineral Engineers (IIME) and the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), with support from Department of Science and Technology (DST), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and the Ministries of Mines, Steel and Coal, Government of India. More than 500 papers were presented during the conference on several themes related to mineral processing. Two special theme symposia on Human resource development and Leveraging information and communication technologies for the mining and mineral processing industry were also held as part of the technical programme.
The conference was supported generously by the global mining and mineral industry. The main sponsors were Metso Minerals (India), Tata Steel (India) and Vale (Brazil).
