It is Council’s intention to ensure that the Proceedings of Congresses are made available as widely as possible after the conclusion of a Congress. It is however sensitive to the need to ensure that those who have incurred the considerable expense of attending a Congress are not unduly disadvantaged. Hence access to Proceedings for those who did not attend a Congress will incur some relatively modest expense.

Recently Council approved a procedure whereby the copyright for all papers presented at a Congress are held by the author(s) and hence may be submitted for publication after the Congress to any Journal of their choice.

The Council is in the process of ensuring that all Proceedings of Congresses which appeared in electronic form beginning with the XXII IMPC in Cape Town in 2003 are easily available.

Thanks to the efforts of Professor Jan Cilliers from Imperial College the Council has been able to obtain an electronic version of the Proceedings of the 1^st IMPC which was held in London in 1952. These are found here.
