The IMPC is saddened by the passing in Beijing in October 2023 of Prof Wang Dianzuo, who was one of the giants in mineral processing in China. He served for a number of years on the IMPC Council and was a recipient of the prestigious IMPC Lifetime Achievement Award which he received at the XXV IMPC Congress held in Brisbane, Australia, in 2010. His passing is a great loss not only for China but also for the global mineral processing community.

Prof Wang Dianzuo was born in 1934 in Liaoning Province, China. After graduating from Central-South Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in 1961 (now called Central South University), he would go on to become a Professor in the field of Mineral, Metallurgical and Material Engineering.
