Han Long


Prof. Han Long graduated in 1986 in Tsinghua University with the Bachelor degree majoring in Instrumentation & Automation. He obtained his Master degree in Mineral Processing Engineering in 1989, and started his career in BGRIMM till now. He is now the General Manager of BGRIMM Group. For decades, he has dedicated himself in R&D of instrumentation and process control technology in mineral processing areas, completing more than 40 major projects, winning 5 national and provincial awards for his research outcomes. He is the recipient of the China State Council Special Allowance, also the Member of Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory for Mining & Metallurgy Automation Technology.

 

Kota Hanumantha Rao

Kota Hanumantha Rao is a Professor of Minerals Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway. He is also the Adjunct Professor at the School of Minerals Processing and Bio-engineering, Central South University, Changsha, China. Prior to NTNU, he worked at the Division of Mineral Processing of Luleå University of Technology (LTU) in Luleå, Sweden, from 1985 to 2014 and since 2003 as a Professor of Mineral Processing. He has authored more than 175 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed high impact journals and international conference proceedings.

Dr. Rao is the recipient of the Arthur F. Taggart Award for the year 2000 from the SME/AIME, USA and the Distinguished Foreign Scientist Award in 2009 from the CSIR, New Delhi, India. He is also deputed to the European Commission, Directorate General-Research, Brussels, Belgium, as Swedish National Expert and worked in the Unit of Industrial Technologies during 2001-2004.

Dr. Rao’s major research activity is in the area of Applied Surface Science relevent to Mineral Processing Technology < http://www.ntnu.edu/employees/hanumantha.rao.kota >. His research interests include surface and pulp chemistry of flotation; flotation of sulphide, industrial, silicate and iron minerals; molecular modelling; minerals bioprocessing and coal preparation.

Zhenghe Xu

Dr Zhenghe Xu (P.Eng., PhD, FRSC, FCAE, FCIM)

Zhenghe Xu graduated with B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Minerals Engineering in 1982 and 1985, respectively, from Central-South Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Changsha, China; and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering Science in 1990 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Virginia, USA. As a professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Alberta, Canada, Dr. Xu is Canada Research Chair in Mineral Processing and NSERC-Industry Research Chair in Oil Sands Engineering. He was also holder of NSERC-EPCOR-AERI Industry Research Chair in Advanced Coal Cleaning and Combustion Technology from 2002-2008. He is also a distinguished visiting professor at Tsinghua University of China (July 2011 – June 2017) and a visiting professor at Kumamoto University of Japan (October 2016 – March 2018).

Dr. Xu’s main research area is interfacial sciences as applied to natural resources processing and utilization. He published over 350 peer-reviewed scientific journal papers (more than 7000 citations) and 60 technical conference proceeding papers along with three US patents, one Canadian patent, co-authored one book and co-edited two books, with 12 book chapters. Dr. Xu was named Teck professor in 2007, and elected to Fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering in 2008 and Fellow of Royal Society of Canada in 2015. He was awarded the Bantrel Award in Design and Industrial Practice of Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering in 2009, the APEGA Frank Spragins Award in 2012, The Teck Environmental Award in 2013, Syncrude Award for Excellence in Sustainable Development of CIM in 2015, and MetSoc Award for Research Excellence in 2016. Stoyan Gaydardzhiev

 Stoyan Gaydardzhiev holds a PhD degree in hydrometallurgy from the University of Mining and Geology in Sofia, Bulgaria and a Dr-Ing habil degree in process engineering from the Brandenburg University of Technology, Cottbus, Germany.

He is employed as Associate Professor in Mineral Processing and ence proceedings and has taken part in various international meetings and coRecycling at the University of Liege in Belgium where is leading the same research group and teaches basic courses on Mineral processing, Solid waste treatment and Environmental aspects of mining activities. His research interests are focused on flotation of base metal ores, hydro- and biohydrometallurgy as well as recycling and valorisation of secondary resources. He is author and co-author of more than 60 publications in referred journals and congresses.  Stoyan has been acting as evaluator for scientific agencies in Europe and South America and as a reviewer for international journals. He is also involved in a number of European and regionally funded projects dealing with mineral processing, recycling and resource efficiency and is member of several professional societies.

Pradip

Pradip, is currently the Vice President (Technology) at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Ltd. He is the Chief Scientist and the Head of Process Engineering Innovation Lab at Tata Research Development & Design Centre (TRDDC), Pune – a Division of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).Pradip received his B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT, Kanpur in 1975 and M.S. & Ph.D. in Materials Science and Mineral Engineering from University of California at Berkeley in 1977 and 1981 respectively.

His main areas of research include particle science & technology, mineral processing, nanotechnology, design and development of performance chemicals based on molecular modeling, applied surface and colloid chemistry, mathematical modeling & simulation of particulate processing systems, colloidal processing of advanced ceramics, waste recycling and cement chemistry.

With more than 180 publications and sixteen patents to his credit, Pradip is the recipient of several honors including VASVIK Award for outstanding contributions to industrial research, Kuczynski Prize of International Institute of Science of Sintering, National Metallurgist Award and Hindustan Zinc Gold Medal of Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) Medal, Mineral Beneficiation Award of Indian Institute of Mineral Engineers (IIME).

He is also the past President of IIME and a member of the National Executive of IIM.Pradip is elected fellow of several academies and professional societies – Foreign Associate of National Academy of Engineering, USA and Fellow, Indian National Academy of Engineering, Fellow, Indian Institute of Metals (FIIM) and Fellow, Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM), UK.

Pradip is member of the editorial board of several journals including International Journal of Mineral Processing and KONA, Japan. He has edited several special issues of international journals on topics of contemporary research interest, the most recent one on Advances in Particle Technology, a special issue of Advances in Powder Technology, published by Elsevier in December 2010.

Pradip has organized several international conferences on topics related to mineral processing and particle science and technology. He was the President of the XXVI International Mineral Processing Congress (IMPC), the most prestigious international mega-event in the field, hosted by India for the very first time, held in New Delhi in September 24-28, 2012.
