Rod Elvish is a Consultant Metallurgist and Principal of B E Enterprises. He has a Fellowship Diploma in Primary Metallurgy and a Post Graduate Diploma in Mineral Economics. He is based in Sydney, Australia and consults extensively in Australia and globally.
Rod’s career has included operations in Tasmania, the Northern Territory, Western Australia, Queensland and several years with Dorr Oliver selling mineral processing equipment. As a Director (later Chairman) of Allstate Explorations NL he was instrumental in the reopening of the Beaconsfield Gold Mine in Tasmania. He formed his own company in 1987.
Rod was National President of The AusIMM in 2001.
He was elected a Councillor of the International Mineral Processing Council (IMPC) and is currently Chair of the IMPC Mineral Processing Commission.
He is an Honorary Fellow and Chartered Professional of The AusIMM, a Fellow of the IOM3 and SAIMM and a Member of CIM and SME.
His vision is that IMPC will be a significant player in technology exchange between all stakeholders in the minerals industry, promoting understanding and common interests to connect the differing focus of academia, environment and community groups, and industry and promoting their working together internationally for the benefit of mineral processing.
He sees the IMPC’s International Advisory Committee as having a major role in achieving this vision.
